Pricing & Insurance
We believe transparency around pricing and insurance helps make therapy more accessible. Below you'll find general information about fees, coverage, and payment options.
Book a SessionTherapy Fees
Therapy session fees start from $180, depending on the type of service and session length.
We also offer a limited number of sliding-scale spots. These are intentionally limited so our therapists can continue providing high-quality, sustainable care while supporting access for those who need it.
Sliding-scale availability varies and is based on current capacity. If cost is a concern, we encourage you to reach out — our therapy team is thoughtful and transparent about exploring options that may work for you.
Insurance Coverage
Many extended health benefit plans in Canada provide coverage for psychotherapy services. Coverage varies depending on your provider and individual plan.
We provide detailed receipts that can be submitted to most insurance companies for reimbursement.

Program & third-party coverage
Beyond extended health benefits, you may be eligible for coverage through:
- NIHB — Non-Insured Health Benefits for eligible First Nations and Inuit clients (billed directly, no cost, no referral needed)
- IFHP — Interim Federal Health Program for refugee claimants (physician's prescription and pre-authorization, which we coordinate)
- WSIB — for mental-health difficulties from a work-related incident or workplace stress
- Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) — mental-health services for eligible Canadian Armed Forces veterans
Coverage requirements and billing processes vary. Please contact us to confirm current eligibility and next steps.
Payment & Receipts
Payment is due at the time of service. Receipts are provided after each session for insurance reimbursement.
At this time, direct billing may not be available for all insurance providers.
Pricing & Insurance FAQ
Are your fees covered by insurance?+
Psychotherapy from a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) is not covered by OHIP in Ontario. Most extended health benefit plans do reimburse it, though coverage and annual limits vary by plan. The quickest way to check is to ask your provider one question — “Do you cover services from a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) in Ontario?” — or read the mental-health section of your benefits booklet. Plans we commonly work with include Sun Life, Manulife, Canada Life, Green Shield Canada, Desjardins, Empire Life, Blue Cross, ClaimSecure, and Beneva. Where your plan allows, we direct-bill through TELUS eClaims; otherwise we issue a detailed receipt you can submit for reimbursement.
How much does a session cost?+
$180 for a 50-minute session, and the first 15-minute consultation is free. A limited number of sliding-scale spots are available — ask us if cost is a barrier.
Do you bill NIHB, IFHP, or Veterans Affairs Canada?+
Yes. For eligible First Nations and Inuit clients we're an enrolled NIHB provider and bill Express Scripts Canada directly — no cost to the client and no physician referral needed. For refugee claimants, IFHP may cover psychotherapy with a physician's prescription and pre-authorization, which we coordinate. For eligible Canadian Armed Forces veterans, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) covers mental-health services; the extent depends on your VAC benefits, so contact us to confirm coverage and next steps.
Can WSIB cover therapy for a work-related issue?+
It may. If you're dealing with mental-health difficulties resulting from a work-related incident or workplace stressors — for example depression, anxiety, chronic or traumatic mental stress, or chronic-pain-related distress — you may be eligible for coverage through the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB). Contact us to talk through your situation, or visit wsib.ca for more information.
What if I don't have benefits or can't afford the fee?+
Tell us. We hold a limited number of reduced-fee, sliding-scale spots, and if we're not the right fit for your budget we'll point you toward services that can help. Nobody should be stuck because of the fee.
When is payment due, and how do receipts work?+
Payment is due at the time of service. After each session we provide a detailed receipt with everything your insurer needs for reimbursement. Where your plan supports it, we direct-bill through TELUS eClaims so you don't pay out of pocket.
Do I need a doctor's referral to start?+
No. You can book a Registered Psychotherapist directly — no referral is required. IFHP coverage is the one exception: it needs a physician's prescription, which we help arrange.
Do you accept referrals from physicians and other providers?+
Yes. Physicians, nurse practitioners, and community organizations can refer directly — see our For Referrers pages for details and printable one-pagers. With the client's written consent, we confirm intake back to the referring office.
